Former TRB colleague Reggie Gillum died February 2, 2026. He began his career in August 1988 as an administrative assistant in the Technical Activities Division and soon was promoted to senior conference assistant. Over the years, he became the account manager for selected conferences—including serving as primary hotel meeting coordinator of the TRB Annual Meeting. In 2007, Reggie became the first marketing associate in TRB’s Executive Office, where he was a key player in developing the fledgling TRB webinar program. He also served as TRB’s lead liaison to the TransTech Academy Industry Partnership Consortium at Cardozo Senior High School in the District of Columbia, now the TransSTEM Academy at Cardozo Education Campus. Subsequently, he lobbied to establish a summer intern program between TransSTEM and TRB’s Cooperative Research Programs. With more than 20 commendations and letters of support from volunteers and colleagues, Reggie retired as a customer service and marketing associate in May 2021, after 32 years of service.
